Security authorities in Taiz governorate, affiliated with the Sanaa authority, continue to hold copies of the book “A Space No Large Bird” by MP Ahmed Saif Hashid.

The Taiz Governorate Police Security Base, “Al-Hawban”, seized 4 copies of the book “A Space That Cannot Hold a Bird”, which were given to public figures in Sanaa.

During the search of the car, the soldier in charge of the inspection confiscated the four copies, and the point commander refused to hand them over, except on operational orders, as if they were dangerous weapons.

The point commander, Sultan Al-Ward, issued a receipt to the book holders after arresting them for about an hour, during which he confirmed that the confiscation process was carried out in accordance with operational guidelines.

The security point has continued to hold the four copies since June 18, 2025 and is requesting an operational order to release them.

The Taiz base specifically and continually confiscates books carried by travelers, indicating that there are directives to prevent the entry of books into the capital, Sanaa, from the de facto authority, which appears hostile to writers and intellectuals.
